Back to work Wednesday

What I ate, yogurt and banana
How I felt, tired and slightly apprehensive as this was my first run since the half on Sunday.
What was on the menu: speed work on the tread mill

Program. 15 min at 9.6 km/h (6:15 min pace) 4km at a speed of 12.5 km Cool down

How I felt, warmup was easier than I anticipate as I felt my body acquiesce to the machine. My body found its natural rhythm easily without struggle quickly.

When the speed segment started the first 2 km were comfortably difficult. Following that pint things began to degenerate. My turnover was not as frequent as it was once and I actually found myself sliding to the end of the carpet. Not good. I wasn't out of breath, I guess my legs were still in a state of fatigue from Sunday's race.

In all fairness. my of my effort has been devoted to base training. This, "speed work" is something of a late addition so in all fairness, I would consider this exercise par for the course.

Concerns: Recovery time before I run 32km this weekend in the sun. That is going to be tough

Stretching: I'm devoting more and more time to it. Hmm.. I guess it does help out.
